The simplest fragrance-care rule is consistency: keep the bottle upright, closed, cool and away from strong light.
The four main storage risks
- Heat: repeated high temperatures can accelerate chemical change.
- Light: prolonged sunlight exposes the formula and packaging to ultraviolet energy.
- Air: leaving a closure loose increases exchange with the environment.
- Humidity and movement: bathrooms and cars often combine temperature swings with moisture or vibration.
Best everyday location
A closed bedroom cupboard or drawer with a stable indoor temperature is usually preferable to a sunny shelf, bathroom windowsill or vehicle. Keep the bottle in its presentation box when practical. Store it upright to reduce prolonged contact between liquid and the spray assembly.
What colour change means
Some gradual colour variation can occur as fragrance materials age. A sudden change together with an unusual odour, leakage or damaged spray mechanism deserves closer inspection. Do not apply a product that appears contaminated or physically compromised.
Travel and shipping
Perfume contains alcohol and may be treated as a restricted or dangerous-goods item in transport. Use the original packaging and the carrier service selected by the fulfilment warehouse rather than forwarding it independently without checking carrier rules.
This guide applies general stability principles and product-care practice. Always follow the warnings and storage instructions printed on the specific product label.
